Our mission at Kiinde
At Kiinde (pronounced “kind”), our mission is to help our customers through the journey of parenthood. We create feeding innovations that are best for baby and that make parents’ lives easier. Our innovations are inspired and designed in house based on our personal experience as parents.
How was Kiinde started?
Kiinde was inspired during a moment of exhaustion at 3AM. Kailas was a new parent and thawing breast milk under tap water while his six-month-old daughter wailed in hunger. Gazing over the pile of dirty bottles that needed washing, Kailas was struck with the thought, “There has to be a better way.”
Kailas called his longtime friend and business partner John McBean and shared some of the challenges and frustrations of infant feeding. Kailas and John, both MIT-trained engineers, were amazed at the lack of good solutions for safely warming breast milk. The excessive transfers of milk and cycle of incessant dish washing were especially exasperating!
“We were determined to create a new kind of feeding experience, applying technology and a user-friendly experience to make it safer and simpler to feed infants.
Kiinde Breastfeeding Innovations
Hence Kiinde was born, with breastfeeding innovations — Kiinde Kozii and Kiinde Twist — as Kiinde’s flagship feeding systems. These products are patented and one of a kind systems. The first ever to allow a mom to express, store, warm, and feed her breast milk to her baby all in one pouch – no transfer, no dishwashing, and healthier for baby.
Kiinde Homemade Baby Food Innovations
As our children transitioned from breast milk to food, we again were determined to find the best and easiest feeding solution for parents.
We experienced first hand that making our own baby food was cumbersome, but we felt that making our own food for our own children was healthier and less expensive than buying jarred food. Hence the Kiinde Foodii system was born!
The Foodii system simplifies the process of storing and feeding your baby pureed baby foods and smoothies – whether feeding baby at home or on the run.
The best part of our day is hearing from Kiinde parents. We read all your emails and love getting pics of your children and hearing stories of how Kiinde has made a difference in the lives of your families.
We have noticed that Kiinde families have been sharing their Kiinde experiences on social media! We decided it was a great time to start this blog, Be.Kiinde.
On our Be.Kiinde blog, we will share family favorite recipes that we have made for our children. We look forward to our Kiinde community sharing their own family recipes!
